THE STORY: On somewhat of a whim, my friend Amanda and I decided to go to the pet store and look at pets. Melvin was the first cat I saw and I fell in love with him immediately. I held him for a long time that day, then I went back the next morning and saw him again and decided to adopt him. I picked him up Friday evening and now he is home!
BACKGROUND: I got him from One of a Kind Pets, a store that rescues animals from local shelters when they are about to be euthanized. (How could anyone euthanize something so cute?!). They have pegged his age at approximately 6 months old, though they don’t know for sure. He’s pretty tiny and skinny as compared to the adult cats.
LIFE SO FAR: I’ve had him for less than a day, but he follows me everywhere! He was so thankful to be out of the store, because they have like 25 cats just running around and all sharing everything and I don’t think he liked it much. He didn’t meow at all on the way home. He has been super friendly so far and he has cuddled with me nonstop since I brought him home; he even slept with me all night. If I leave the room, he has to come see where I went before he is okay. He knows who his mommy is!
